Celebrating the launch of Corporita Magazine
Among all the events organized across Canada to celebrate the International Women’s Day, one was very important to Corporita Magazine, which is the 5th annual WRSBC International Women’s Day event. To commemorate this momentous day, the Waterloo Region Small Business Centre (WRSBC) invited four wonderful women speakers to share their insights about this year’s theme, mentorship.
At the Rotunda of the City of Kitchener, 250 amazing women from all walks of life gathered, laughed, talked, listened to the wisdom of high achievers and celebrated the launch of Corporita Magazine- the first national Canadian online magazine for working women, by working women. Anne T. Donahue , Caitlin MacGregor , Stephanie Mancini , and Dr. Shohini Ghose talked about their journey to success, what did they learn being in leadership positions within their industry and the role mentorship has played in their life.
Berry Vrbanovic, Mayor of Kitchener, was the first to address the attendees. After humorously pointing out that only five other men were out there, alongside him, in a room full of amazing women, the Mayor talked about the indispensable that role women play in life, business and the community. He also spoke about how mentorship affected him personally and why it is essential to provide mentorship programs, especially for young entrepreneurs. Emphasizing the growing technology sector in the Waterloo Region, Mayor Vrbanovic invited everyone to check the new e-mentorship system that was developed to respond to the demands of the workforce in the city of Kitchener.

Corporita Magazine was well-received by the audience, many of them were keen to ask specific questions about the new magazine. And we – at Corporita Magazine – are so excited to have our headquarters in such a vibrant, growing region. We believe that the Waterloo Region will be the beating heart of the new Canada that is built on innovation.
