Revamping the Business Networking
By Hanan Awaad
I am very pleased to have co-sponsored and presented at the OSBN® June networking event organized On Wednesday 29th, 2016 in Kitchener, Ontario, with the Rozina Jivani of Sun Life Financial. There were so many interesting participants and exciting businesses represented.
Business Networking for some individuals might be challenging for different reasons. Being shy or introverted; you might feel uncomfortable speaking to new people; you may find it difficult to get engaged in conversations, or perhaps you are new in business and feel anxious to talk about it. These are examples of challenges business people face when preparing to join a networking event, and here comes the unique approach of the OSBN® in tackling most of the business networking challenges and provide a safe ground for entrepreneurs and small business owners to connect and engage in meaningful networking activities.
Two presentations were conducted, the future of business insurance in light of the new changes to some Canadian policies and regulations and my presentation of Lean Startup. Both presentations were informative and focused on educating the participants, not sales pitching. Participants were engaged in discussions related to the two topics covered as well as the many games organized by the OSBN® to break the ice and establish a structured process to participants to talk about their products or services.
